You can try every solution to cool down on an uncomfortably hot summer day. Air conditioners, fans, pools, a cool beach, the shade of a tree or a drink can be alternatives. In addition to its refreshing properties, you can also think of ice cream as an option that will sweeten your life. Especially homemade vanilla ice cream, which you prepare with your own hands and trusting the recipe, can make everything more enjoyable.
Many countries in the world are experiencing very hot weather conditions, reaching high temperatures that they have not seen throughout history. Since we encounter these conditions in many parts of Europe, we are looking for new ways to cool down while preparing for the summer season or in the middle of summer.
While you see ice cream as the most enjoyable method of cooling down, you may want it to have different flavours instead of always being the same. In this regard, although vanilla ice cream is known as the most classic ice cream type, it is chosen because it is the easiest to make and everyone can like it.
Why Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream?
Ice cream is among the most consumed standard foods in the summer heat. Moreover, it is a food that everyone, from childhood to adulthood, loves its taste and enjoys while cooling down. With milk meeting salep and containing different flavours, this dessert is a type that no one can say no to.
However, in recent years, you may not be sure about the ingredients of the appetizing ice creams you see on supermarket shelves or in refrigerators in open businesses. Especially the high amount of refined sugar and the many preservatives added may prevent you from consuming ready-made ice creams.
Of course, an ice cream that you can prepare at home and consume more safely with our own recipe should always be your priority. Therefore, you can safely consume it for both children and adults with the homemade vanilla ice cream recipe that I will present to you today. You can also continue consuming it 365 days a day, that is, during the winter season, without any hesitation. Because the recipe we will use is prepared with only natural ingredients that you use daily at home, without any artificial sweeteners or unwanted ingredients.
What is needed for Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream?
You can find the ingredients you will use for homemade vanilla ice cream, which is delicious, reliable and can be easily stored in the refrigerator, at any time at home. You can obtain these materials completely organically and use each of them in their purest form from the manufacturer. Since the main ingredient in this recipe is vanilla and vanilla is found in almost every home, it is one of the most standard ice cream recipes. Other ingredients such as milk are among the ingredients you can easily find at any point today, either pasteurized or natural.
While one of the recipes I can give for homemade vanilla ice cream turns it into a Protein and Calcium store with the addition of yoghurt, I want to give you the chance to evaluate the alternatives in different ways thanks to a different recipe.
Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream with Yogurt Recipe
If we examine the first recipe we will use, we can list the ingredients you will use as follows.
- 1 glass of fatty home-made yoghurt
- 1 tea glass of pasteurized or boiled fresh milk
- 1 teaspoon of ground real salep
- 1 pack of powdered cake vanilla or 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavouring
We do not include any extra sugar in the recipe I shared. However, you may want the ice cream to be sweet and to create a sugary taste on your palate. In this respect, you can add an ingredient such as natural sweetener or honey to the recipe if you wish. To make the recipe with the ingredients, we just need to start by simply mixing all the ingredients together.
You will need to keep the ingredients in a container in the freezer for about 4 hours to freeze. After 4 hours, you need to take the mixture out of the refrigerator and slowly beat it again and mix it so that it blends together again. When you repeat this process at least 2 times, this mixture, which has been in the refrigerator for about 10 hours, will now turn into a thick and delicious ice cream.
Sugared Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream Recipe
Alternatively, another recipe I will tell you about is a natural homemade vanilla ice cream recipe that does not contain ingredients such as yoghurt, as is made in patisseries. It will be enough to bring together the following ingredients for this recipe, which you can easily prepare at home not only in summer but also in winter.
- 1 liter of boiled fresh milk (you can use alternatives such as goat’s milk or sheep’s milk mixed with cow’s milk for a delicious ice cream)
- 200 g granulated sugar
- 75 g powdered salep
- 1 pack of vanilla powder
- Pieces of pistachios to decorate
To prepare the vanilla ice cream, we will first need to mix the sugar and salep together thoroughly and keep them in a corner, while putting the boiled milk on the stove and making it hot again. After the milk starts to boil, we need to add salep and granulated sugar and cook it until we obtain a thick mixture, stirring constantly. Now we can take it off the stove, add vanilla and start mixing it with a mixer.
After the vanilla mixture is first whisked, it will need to cool at room temperature for approximately 1 hour. We will continue by whipping again and this time putting the ice cream in the freezer. Taking the mixture out of the freezer for 2 or 3 hours and whisking it again a few times will help the ice cream get a better consistency. In this way, when serving the ice cream at the final point, we can achieve a very consistent and delicious result by decorating it with pistachios or using ingredients such as cocoa.
How to Serve Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream?
Homemade vanilla ice cream, which offers a wonderful taste for a hot summer day, can help you get the refreshment you want on a summer day, even just plain. Since it contains only a well-known flavour such as vanilla, this ice cream can be consumed with any dessert or fruit you want. For example, after dinner, you can offer this homemade ice cream to your guests along with the desserts you prepared at home.
In our kitchen, many different desserts such as baklava, kadayif or revani are important accompaniments for ice cream consumption. A homemade vanilla ice cream that you can prepare without adding sugar along with these sweet flavours will complement itself with the sugar in the dessert and create a more enjoyable consumption opportunity. Those hard cut ice creams prepared by whipping machines for hours in businesses, namely patisseries, may sometimes seem more attractive to you. However, today it will be possible for us to have this opportunity thanks to the mixers that create convenience in homes.
To consume vanilla ice cream at home, you can always use cones that you can prepare naturally with different recipes. You can also add ice cream, which you would add between a home-made waffle or a wafer, onto fruit salads. You can continue to consume ice cream in every season during the day, either with a hot drink or simply by combining it with different fruit juices.
